Helpful Community Information

Creekers, we’re always better when we work together!  Meadowcreek Village Civic Club is your nonprofit neighborhood organization. We work to keep your neighborhood safe and clean. With your help, it’s a win-win for everyone as our homes keep their curb and sales appeal!

Your civic club is responsible for neighborhood deed restriction enforcement. We are friends with local government and law enforcement. We provide landscaping and signage. Our end goal is to help protect the value of properties and improve the quality of life for you!

Deed Restrictions: You must abide by deed regulations and established city of Houston laws This also applies to home renters. Deed restrictions are listed for each of our 12  sections on our website above.

Civic Club Meetings: Please join us at meetings which are advertised throughout the neighborhood with signage. Hear about new city/county programs and projects which affect our neighborhood. Discuss concerns. City/county officers attend our meetings, and so do your neighbors. Join the civic club as a member through our website above. Your dues help us with improvements.

Call Law Enforcement. Don’t depend on your neighbor to call police. This is very important if you hear gunfire. We receive more attention (police visibility) based on repeat calls. You don’t have to state name/address.

No Yard Parking: Vehicles must be parked in the driveway or in garage. Our residents adopted the city ordinance, and you must obey or be fined by HPD.

No Illegal Public Street Parking: Cars must be registered and in driving condition. Houston City Ordinance 26-93 says a vehicle cannot legally park on the public street for more than 24 hours. This law helps to reduce neighborhood clutter and identify stolen vehicles.

Trash/Heavy Trash Violations: Heavy trash and lawn waste pickup dates are listed by the City of Houston Solid Waste Control at houstontx.gov/solidwaste. Yard waste and heavy trash rotate every other month. Violators who put trash out early will be ticketed by city. Pick up garbage cans and place them in nonvisible location by the day after recycling or trash pickup dates.

Weeds/Abandoned Lawns: High grass and weeds are a violation of both deed restrictions and city law. 311 Houston takes care of complaints and will also send Neighborhood Protection Dept. to issue tickets to offenders.

No Gunfire: Gunfire will not be tolerated in the neighborhood. What goes up must come down. We have lots of treasured children here. We are about family here. You will be responsible for your actions, including celebratory gunfire at New Year’s Eve/Christmas/July4th. Police will be called if you fire weapons. Neighbors: call, call, call.

No Loose Animals: Dogs are family, but stray dogs/cats can be dangerous and a threat to public health. Leash laws must be followed. Report stray dogs/cats to 311 through BARC. Be a good neighbor. Keep your dog from barking at night. You versus them will be ticketed as a noise offender (see below).

No Noise Ordinance/Violations: The city of Houston has a noise violation law–both during the day and night. We all want to live in a peaceful neighborhood. Be courteous and keep your music to yourself. Loud vehicles and barking dogs are included in the noise violation law. If you are bothered by loud noises, try to capture a video of the offense so that you can share with police.

No Trespassing/dumping on Berry Bayou: Most property along Berry Bayou is private property, owned by homeowners. Recreational vehicles are NOT allowed on the bayou as they damage to bayou property. No dumping trash/limbs on bayou either. Precinct 2 and HPD enforce these trespassing laws.

No Businesses at Residences: Deed restrictions in all sections of Meadowcreek do NOT allow private businesses to operate at residences. Whether it’s an auto mechanic shop, caregiver service or food catering shop, NO businesses may operate from Meadowcreek homes. You will received a warning from civic club.

These quick tips can help all of us to remain safe and will allow us all to live in the best neighborhood in Houston, Texas!
