IMPORTANT MESSAGE: BERRY BAYOU

Dear Meadowcreek Village Community:

Berry Creek Bayou is a vital part of our community so I’d like to discuss a serious problem with you. Someone is dumping several types of waste products into our bayou! It has become more frequent in the last couple of months and is now a critical concern

Dumping in the bayou is a punishable crime. City and county officials are monitoring the bayou to catch the violators. We hope this happens sooner than later. In the meantime, there are several things you can do to help:

• Remember that dumping trash, including paint, yard clippings, cooking oil and other pollutants into the storm drains on your street eventually reaches the bayou. This disturbs and could eventually kill the wildlife. In addition, trash in your street ends up in the bayou.

• Never dump your brush/limbs into the bayou or, if you live on the bayou, behind your fence line. This erodes the bayou which, in turn, affects the property value.

• Email me if you have any questions or concerns or if you see any dumping on the bayou. ….president@mvcivic.club

We all enjoy the wildlife living on the bayou: birds, turtles, fish and other critters. They also depend on us to keep the water clean: free of pollutants and trash.

When the bayou is polluted and eroded, it affects all the property values in our subdivision.

Again, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions about the bayou issues or if you have suggestions about cleaning the trash from the bayou.

Sincerely,
Roseanne Peters
Meadowcreek Village Civic Club President
