HAPPY 75TH BIRTHDAY MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE

A 75 YEAR HISTORY of MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE

In November of 1950, three men had a vision for a new and exciting community within the quickly expanding Houston City Limits. They saw one of the City of Houston’s FIRST master planned communities with well-built homes, schools, churches, and shopping centers that would greatly benefit from being halfway between the bustling business district of downtown Houston, and the exciting tourist area of Galveston.

When Robert Clemens, George Fasullo, and John Cashman registered MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE with the Harris County Clerk’s office in the fall of 1950, they could never even imagine how much the City of Houston would grow and change over the next 75 years. The neighborhood known as MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE would be a big part of that growth. The aerospace industry, petrochemical industry, shipping industry, and the U.S. Military would all see many key individuals living and raising their families in the thriving community of MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE.

As we celebrate 75 years as a neighborhood, we can be proud of how people from all over the world now call MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE home. Not only do people call MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE home, but so do many animals! The natural Berry Bayou waterway, which runs through MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE, is home to many exotic birds, alligators, turtles, foxes, coyotes, and even a rare endangered otter!

When many neighborhoods across the country find it difficult to stay relevant after 75 years, MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE continues to spread the word that when a community comes together, great things are possible. We are proud to say that MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE continues to see our CIVIC CLUB Meetings grow, while our crime statistics shrink. We cannot wait to see what great things are in store for MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE in the next 75 years!
