BERRY BAYOU RESTORATION PROJECT 2025

For the past few years, the topic of BERRY BAYOU RESTORATION has come up at several Meadowcreek Civic Club Meetings. As we all know, government funded projects must be thoroughly planned out and voted on by several committees before funding can even be considered. Then funding must be approved by several parts of county government. A contractor must bid on the project, and a start date is then finally decided upon. THIS ALL TAKES TIME! Well the time has finally come! The Harris County Flood Control District will begin this project somewhere close to the beginning of OCTOBER 2025. A more detailed description of this project can be found below. As discussed, the contracting company will be bringing in large amounts of heavy equipment to use on this project. This equipment MUST HAVE ACCESS TO BERRY BAYOU IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT. If access is blocked by unauthorized EASEMENT ENCROACHMENT, the county has approved that the unauthorized obstacles be removed if needed. This includes:

  1. FENCES
  2. SWINGING POOLS
  3. GARDENS
  4. GARDEN SHEDS or SMALL BUILDINGS

If you live on BERRY BAYOU, please make sure that the easement designated behind your homes are free and clear of any obstacles. If there are any obstacles, please be prepared for HARRIS COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL to move them.

This project will be a major benefit to all of Meadowcreek Village. This will not only keep BERRY BAYOU from eroding, it will also keep BERRY BAYOU flowing freely to prevent flooding all across Meadowcreek Village. We are very thankful that this project was approved, and that it will keep BERRY BAYOU an important part of the flood control process across MEADOWCREEK VILLAGE and all of Southeast Houston.
