July 2018 Yard of the Month

The Meadowcreek Village Civic Club Recognizes the July 2018 Yard of the Month

The clever effort made by the home owners at 5110 Laurel Creek Drive makes this residence a “stand out” in Section 11.  They were able to make the best of losing two beautiful oak trees and disguising an annoying front yard utility valve. The winner receives a Yard of the Month sign of recognition for one month. The Houston Independent School District professional Angelica Olvera works De Zavala Elementary School, and her Sales Manager husband, Raul, works for Midwest, a company that is does various projects for the petrochemical industry.  They have been Meadowcreek Village residents for over 10 years. Today, hoping to take a family picture, I was able to capture of this five member family of three generations. The eldest daughter attends HISD Challenge Early College High School. The younger daughter attends our neighborhood school, Patterson Elementary. We hope they and others will be at a MVCC meeting (August 9th) for all us to congratulate their efforts.

The beautification committee is looking for the winning front yard for August 2018 starting on 07-01-2018.  The deadline for nominations is the last Friday of July for August 2018 YOM (07-27-2018). The Beautification Committee welcomes any Meadowcreek Village Civic Club member to join the efforts of this committee, simply email:  beautification@meadowcreekvillage.org or m.clemmons@meadowcreekvillage.org .  The MVCC Beautification Committee currently has 5 on-going projects that need volunteer help and financial support.
